This role sits within Manulife’s Canada Segment Central Marketing Organization. The team provide a wide range of data services for a variety of business units across the segment which provides a unique opportunity to work broadly and collaborate with cross functional business stake holders. This team also collaborate closely with other data and analytics teams to develop and deliver data driven marketing solutions that are relevant, personalized and engaging for our customers.

  • Specialization in campaign management and reporting targeting our Manulife customers
  • Drive technology enablement projects and improve capabilities through Marketing Automation
  • Transform experiences through data, processes, and insights to drive business value and delight our stakeholders and customers

Key Accountabilities:

Campaign management & reporting and maturing capabilities

  • Campaign data management end to end; data exploration, opportunity sizing, translating business requirements into technical requirements, data provisioning to build leads data, testing/QA, supporting execution, developing post campaign analysis & reporting, summarizing and visualizing the data in dashboards for senior management and product owner
  • Mature campaign management and reporting capabilities - design, upgrade and implement new data workflows, automations, tools and API integrations. Integrate our technology with Salesforce, MDM, Enterprise Data Lake and more to mature our capabilities. Automate routine activities that are manual. Proactively identify and integrate new data sources, new analytics capabilities / competencies & technologies.
  • Leverage marketing and analytical experience to deliver proactive and insightful program/campaign analytics and actionable insights. Complete deep dive of results identifying insights for maximizing the campaign potential.
  • Suggest product or process enhancement to increase campaign conversion and channel penetration
  • Analyze intermediary and customer data from multiple lines of business to prepare and effectively present recommendations on marketing strategy
  • Support ongoing build/enhancement of leads database to continuously improve all analytics, reporting and campaign management. Work with the product owner to build out new data models and support implementation.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and promote agile principles and methodologies
  • Support ad-hoc data requests

Leadership/Collaboration

  • Consult, collaborate, and recommend solutions to our stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other data teams like Advanced Analytics, Canadian Data Office, Email & Marketing Automation Team, Core Engineering, Salesforce, Digital Analytics
  • Support the expansion of our services to more stakeholders and be involved in the opportunity to evolve into cloud capabilities, evolve your own capabilities, and keep an eye on developments that can support our expansion
  • Act as the team representative at stakeholder meetings bringing actional insights and providing updates on campaign deliverables
  • Collaborate with analytics teams across Manulife and track key trends to enrich the team’s ability to provide enhanced insights and improvements in marketing performance
  • Support marketing automation projects, collaborating with multiple data teams and Marketing Managers
  • Support project planning by building workback schedules and outline key milestones dates

Building and assuring the proper data quality and governance processes

  • Build data governance, audit, security, and data quality practices in compliance with Manulife standards and policies and aligning to the Canadian Data Office
  • Mitigate data, compliance, and privacy risks
  • Monitor and track campaign programs and ensure that any problems arising are highlighted to management with proposed solutions - escalate and fix issues related to data
  • Create, design and update documentation to help support data understanding and management
  • Leverage tools to enhance code management & control practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical (computer science, engineering, math, etc.) and/or business discipline or equivalent technical expertise
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with focus on business and/or marketing analytics, including data management/programming experience. Experience in financial services an asset.
  • Employing exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they snowball into problems
  • Python, SQL, SSIS, Github, PowerBI, Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint experience. Hive/Spark/Jenkins an asset.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure (or other cloud) platforms is preferred. Data Warehouse knowledge/experience
  • Proficient in data wrangling, data cleansing, ETL/ELT, exploratory data analysis, data visualization
  • Significant experience with data provisioning (gathering, storing, and retrieval methods) working with various data sources
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills while working in a face-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Strong communication skills, able to present effectively to senior leaders in various sized groups
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills who can clearly articulate/interpret business needs to translate into technical requirements
  • Practical experience with Agile tools & methods such as Confluence, JIRA, Scrum/Kanban preferred
  • Ability to foster positive relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate methodology, insights and recommendations with non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Strong ability to document and monitor processes
  • Experience in setting up data pipelines, processing data with complex analytics and ensuring data integrity
  • Understanding of relational and dimensional database design and knowledge of logical and physical data models is preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and report simultaneously across different stakeholders
